Job Description
The pipefitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems used to transport water, air, gases, or chemicals essential for mining operations.
Mains Responsibilities
- Read and interpret piping plans, isometrics, and schematics;
- Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and install pipes made of various materials (steel, copper, PVC, etc.);
- Perform assembly and welding of piping sections according to standards;
- Inspect systems for leaks, wear, or failures and carry out necessary repairs;
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of air, water, and ventilation distribution systems;
- Work in compliance with company health and safety policies.
Experiences, Skills and Education
- Vocational diploma (DEP) in pipefitting or equivalent training;
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial or mining environments;
- Ability to read and interpret technical and isometric plans
- Welding knowledge (asset);
- Ability to work in varied conditions (underground, temperature, confined spaces);
- Attention to detail, teamwork, and prioritization skills.
