Job Description

The Energy and Infrastructure Supervisor is responsible for overseeing surface infrastructure maintenance activities at a mining site. They lead a multidisciplinary team and ensure the achievement of operational objectives while maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements.

Your main responsibilities 

  • Supervise a maintenance team for infrastructure, including plumbers, building mechanics, carpenters, site mechanics, diesel vehicle mechanics, water treatment operators, laborers, and HVAC/Heating technicians;
  • Oversee the maintenance of surface infrastructure, including HVAC and heating systems, the power plant, potable and wastewater treatment plants, fuel storage and distribution systems, camp facilities, and the underground mine drainage collector;
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices and sound environmental management;
  • Collaborate in planning and executing the weekly maintenance schedule;
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and actively contribute to the development of employees and tradespeople;
  • Establish and maintain healthy and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Supervise the team’s administrative responsibilities (schedules, vacation, timesheets, employee selection and onboarding, disciplinary records and corrective action plans, training);
  • Ensure compliance with the Mining Act, applicable codes, and company policies;
  • Maintain effective communication between shifts.

Requirements 

  • Certificate of qualification in a relevant skilled trade or a degree in engineering;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role in an industrial or mining environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise up to 15 direct reports;
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams;
  • Knowledge of subcontractor contract management (an asset);
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Eagerness to learn and a passion for talent development;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to work in a northern or remote environment (an asset);
  • The official working language is English.
