Job Description :
Under the supervision of the foreman/project manager, the industrial mechanic is responsible for supporting the team in the workshop. In this role, they will work closely with other mechanics, welders, and tradespeople, providing high-quality technical support on-site.
Main Responsibilities :
- Read mechanical (pneumatic and hydraulic) plans, diagrams, and schematics, as well as maintenance manuals, to determine the most effective way to proceed
- Install, adjust, inspect, and repair stationary industrial machinery or mechanical equipment, and troubleshoot breakdowns
- Operate various lifting devices and equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery
- Plan the steps required for welding work
- Determine and implement appropriate welding processes
- Use manual and semi-automatic welding tools
- Operate metalworking machines (e.g., shears, press brakes)
- Weld and braze metals to fabricate and repair products or infrastructure
- Contribute actively to workplace safety and cleanliness
Job Requirements :
- DEP in welding and fitting, or industrial mechanics (or equivalent experience)
- Welding experience
- CWB certification (4 positions) is an asset
- High-pressure welding certification is an asset
